Google dismisses any abuse complaint from EU

EU had issued an objection to Google relating its shopping links display in the search results. The search giant has dismissed any such objections by EU, saying it was ‘a wrong matter of fact, law and economics.’

Europe was of the opinion that the company was abusing its wide presence. They went on to further add that the company had unfair share of disadvantages just because it had prominence of Google’s in house ads. This blame game had taken place in the month of April and till then; no formal statement had come from Google’s side.

Google finally broke its silence by giving this formal statement where it mentioned the shopping services that appears as a box of images and links at the top and side of other results helps benefit both customers and businesses without violating any market laws. It also dismissed EU commissioners’ suggestion to display ads sourced and ranked by any other company.

Google placed three valuable arguments that are laid as under to defend itself- the first among them was- Fact: Google has witnessed a rise in the traffic in the recent past with 227%. New price comparison on services had already started to operate and this had boosted the traffic.

Law: Google tells its supply of electricity or gas as one can access internet through many other modes.

Economics: Google dismisses EU telling, it had totally overshadowed Amazon, eBay and social networks like pin interest’s dynamism and to appreciate them for generating online shopping.
